Here’s An Effective “Visualization Technique” You Probably Didn’t Know About

Imagination is a powerful ability of humans that other animals don’t possess. We can create a scenario in our heads and live inside it. We can think about the past and imagine what our futures could be like.

Using your imagination to create different scenarios in your mind is often known as visualization. It is a common technique used in manifestation and the law of attraction.

Visualization is a powerful tool that can help you actualize your dreams. You can manifest anything you want by visualizing a specific outcome in your mind and feeling the emotions.

You can find thousands of online videos and articles on visualization. You can also read books on the topic. My favorite one is Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain.

While scrolling Reddit, I read about a visualization technique I had never heard of before. I have practiced it a few times after reading about it. It was indeed a lot of fun doing it. It’s an effective way to dive into your emotions during visualization.

Before I share the process with you, understand that visualization works only when you add emotions. You cannot just imagine something in your head and expect it to become real. You need to be aware of how you feel when you see those images in your mind.

Dr. Joe Dispenza discusses the importance of emotions when trying to create a new reality. He says that clear intention mixed with elevated emotions helps change a person’s biology from living in the past to living in the future.

So, make sure when you practice visualization, you experience the emotions too.

Now, let’s get back to the technique I learned.

When visualizing, we often imagine what we want to attract. For example, we see ourselves with a new car, $1m in the bank, or the perfect partner.

But manifestation is about being the person with all those things rather than wanting to have them. In other words, you need to act as if you already have what you want and imagine yourself doing other things as that person.

Here’s an example: Suppose you want a new car. Let’s say it’s a Range Rover for the sake of this example. Instead of manifesting that car, you must think of a fake desire that the version of you with that car would want. So, don’t think about having a Range Rover. Instead, think about manifesting a trip on that car. Or maybe wanting new seat covers.

The version of you who already has what you want would not sit down to attract the same thing againYou need to believe you are already that person with the new car, relationship, or money. So, why would you spend your time manifesting something you already have? Instead, you would want more things as that person.

This technique can be powerful because, firstly, you act as if you already have what you want. Secondly, you are trying to manifest other things as that person. And lastly, it is easier for you to add emotions because you are visualizing as someone who doesn’t need what they want because they already have it.

I made a simple sketch of the technique in my journal. It will make things clearer for you.

Try this new visualization technique to see how it helps you. To recap, imagine a different desire (trip in the car) as the person who already has the actual desire (the car).

You can play around with the technique and add more fun to it. For instance, you can add drama. A fight with your specific person, for example. That person is someone who isn’t with you yet. But in your imagination, you are already together with them, fighting over a slight misunderstanding in your relationship.

This method not only makes the process more effective but also adds some fun to it.
