The most significant lesson I’ve learned in life is understanding that I am responsible for what happens to me. Most people let circumstances determine how they feel. They let life happen instead of taking control of it.
The reason you are not achieving your goals and living the life you want is that you are not taking responsibility for your actions, beliefs, and choices. So, here’s something that will change it: start believing in yourself more. Self-belief is the most crucial aspect of success. And the truth most people haven’t realized is that believing in yourself is a choice.
Your future self is begging you right now to stop waiting and start taking action towards it. It’s asking you to take the leap of faith and do what it is you want to do — believe in your dreams and go for it.
Excuses, doubt, fear, and hesitation are stealing the life you could be living right now. Everybody has doubt and fear, but only those who take action despite them can achieve their goals and live the life they want.
You’re not stuck because of a lack of talent or skills. You’re stuck because you have convinced yourself that you are not ready, not good enough for the life you desire.
Spoiler alert: Nobody is ever ready.
You’ll never be ready to start that business, call that person, go to the gym, and do difficult things. But ready isn’t something that happens to you. It’s a choice. I love the ‘do something‘ principle by Mark Manson, where he explains that action isn’t the outcome of motivation, but the cause of it. In other words, when you choose to take action before you are motivated or inspired, you make progress. And that progress leads to motivation.
You don’t have to know everything before you start. You just have to go for it. Start before you are ready. Start now; figure it out later.
Here’s a quick and effective tip if you are lost and don’t know how to start:
Decide you are ready, and you will be.
The person who succeeds is the person who believes they can. You don’t have to believe in yourself if you can’t. Just start acting and behaving like someone who believes in themselves. In other words, just fake it. Act as if you are ready, and you will be. Remember the three steps: Be. Do. Have.
Self-belief is the real magic that brings wonders to your life. Whether it’s at work, in relationships, with your health, or your career, believing in yourself takes you ahead of 99.99% of people who don’t. Half the work is done when you start believing you can, because when your mindset is strong and focused on growth, things become easier for you. You will figure out everything you need to achieve your desired goals.
Start believing in yourself more. Do it today. It’s a choice.
Start taking action. Do it even if you aren’t ready yet. Act as if you are something and you will become it.
