Writing an article can be daunting, especially when you lack inspiration and ideas.
Thankfully, we have AI now.
However, using AI to write an entire article is not the best way to express your ideas because it will destroy your creativity.
This doesn’t mean you cannot take help from AI to craft your stories. Using ChatGPT (or other AI tools) to find ideas for your articles and structure your writing is okay.
I will tell you how you can use ChatGPT rightly to craft articles that get good engagement from the audience. I’ll also include exact prompts you can use.
These prompts don’t have to be complicated. But the more specific you are, the better the results will be. I’ll give examples of simple prompts to help you get the best outcome.
Idea generation
Every article begins with an idea. You cannot write well if you don’t know what you want to write about.
However, finding brilliant ideas that resonate with you and the audience can be challenging.
But you never feel the challenge once you crack the code to find ideas. Again, thanks to AI, this process has been simplified.
Using ChatGPT to find ideas requires you to feed some information first. In other words, you must know what topic you want to write about. For example, it can be self-improvement, business, health and fitness, marketing, etc.
Know what to write about and use the following prompt. Suppose you want article ideas on digital marketing. Here is the ChatGPT prompt you can use.
Prompt:
I want to write blog posts on digital marketing. Suggest ten articles titles on this topic.
Creating an outline
The prompt above will list ten article titles for your chosen topic. Of course, you can ask more than ten if you want.
Pick one you like and want to write about. You can make some tweaks in the title if necessary. The next step is to create an outline for your article.
Developing an outline for your article is crucial. It clarifies how you will structure your post, including headlines, subheadings, and main points.
Here’s the prompt you can use to create an outline for your article:
Prompt:
Write an outline for this article: [Insert a title you chose from the previous prompt]
Headlines and subheadings
The most crucial part of your article is the headline.
Good headlines can get you more views, followers, and earnings. They are game-changers. You can get 10x the results when you write a good title, even though the article isn’t that good.
If you are unhappy with the headline generated by the first prompt, you can use the following prompt to discover a better one.
Prompt:
Suggest a few intriguing alternative headlines for “[Insert a title]”
Image generation
The free version of ChatGPT allows you to generate two images daily. Since this has limitations, you can use alternative AI image-generation tools.
I use Grok (xAI) for my article images because I am a premium user of 𝕏. There are tons of other alternatives.
Whichever tool you use, you can describe the type of image you want to generate. Suppose you want a picture of a person speaking in public. Here’s a simple prompt:
Prompt:
Generate an image of a person speaking at an event in front of a large audience.
You can re-use the prompt to generate a new image if you aren’t happy with what you got.
Final step and conclusion
The above steps will give you a blueprint for your article. Now, your job is to write the article accordingly. You just have to follow the guidelines from the above prompts.
Writing becomes easy once you have everything you need.
As I said, the prompts I have suggested here are simple ones. You can modify them to your own needs. For instance, if you want your article to be SEO-friendly, add that to your prompt when generating the outline.
I’ve used the above steps to write my articles using ChatGPT. And they have brought significant outcomes.
Learn to use AI to your advantage. But don’t depend on it entirely because that will kill your creativity.
Try my methods and see how they work for your articles.
