Hi, Ram. The purpose of a collateral from a broker’s perspective is to avoid/minimize loss. It is used by the broker only if you fail to pay them for stock purchase.

So, in short, you have to pay the broker separately. And, once you do so, the collateral is reset to the previous amount. If you fail to pay, the broker will use the collateral amount.
